With their shouted harmonies and organ-pumping attack, the Oklahoma-by-way-of-Dallas Five Americans beamed their way into the Top 40 in with the hammering "I See the Light" and again in with the even bigger blockbuster "Western Union." (The quintet's second LP for Abnak, Western Union/Sound of Love, was produced by rockabilly great Dale Hawkins.).

The album has had many covers over the years the first LP used the album cover of the 78 album set. In the mid 50s it was replaced by a color shot of the Farmer and the Cowman dance (ironically that song was not on the album it was part of Volume 2 and never appeared on any of the Decca Lp editions/5(17).
