The Bourgeois Blues" is a blues song by Huddie Ledbetter, better known as Lead Belly. It was written after Lead Belly went to Washington, D.C. at the request of Alan Lomax, to record a number of songs for the Library of Congress.

Bourgeois Blues Lyrics: (Leadbelly) / Me and my wife went all over town / And everywhere we went people turned us down / Lord, in a bourgeois town / It's a bourgeois town / I got the bourgeois blues.

General CommentThis is one of the foremost protest songs of all times, let alone the truesmasherdilkreeredshade.xyzinfo is a song that was many years ahead of its time. The song more or less speaks for itself. I understand that the word, "bourgeois" is used because Leadbelly just learned it on the car ride up to D.C. with Lomax and simply loved how it sounded.
