Song information for Cliche - Sebadoh on AllMusic. "Cliché" is Lou Barlow's way of making light of his penchant for the well-worn themes of traditional love songs -- a tendency that dominates his own songwriting. The music also lacks none of the interpersonal melodrama that comes with the territory, featuring dramatic bursts of sound and delicate guitar accents.

Bubble & Scrape was the first Sebadoh album to be recorded entirely in a professional studio, marking a departure from the lo-fi, home-recorded sound of their previous albums. In addition to the greater use of electric guitars and the higher production value, the album features longer songs and more sophisticated song arrangements, [2] paving Genre: Indie rock.

Bubble and Scrape is a great Sebadoh album and the extra tracks here add to its value. The style of the bonus tracks is a bit different, like Sebadoh 3 but completely electric. Many are essential for anyone who likes Sebadoh, with a fascinating set of instrumental collages in Parts (the Jason Loewenstein contribution part 4 is especially /5(9).
